September is here! Fall is near, the kids are going back to school and we are all getting back into our routines. September brings a sense of order and regimen, and as much as we all love our regimens, it’s important to enjoy ourselves too! Check out some fun events going on in Portland this month. There’s everything from a Bloody Mary Festival to networking events by the Portland Business Alliance!

  • Bloody Mary Festival

    • From the Pearl to Clinton-Richmond, The Bloody Mary Festival has scoured Portland for the craftiest and most delicious Bloody Mary’s. Tickets include 2.5 hours of unlimited tastes of Portland’s most creative and innovative Bloody Mary’s, created by the finest restaurants, bars and bottled mix companies, as well as yummy food and drink tastes from local artisans. Each ticket also includes one vote for the People’s Choice award for the best Bloody Mary in Portland. This event is sponsored by Absolut Vodka and will benefit the Humane Society for Southwest Washington.

 

  • The Corn Maize at the Pumpkin Patch

    • Portland’s original cornfield maze celebrates its 19th season at The Pumpkin Patch on beautiful Sauvie Island in Portland, Oregon. Craig Easterly, founder of the original corn maze, brought his weird idea to Sauvie Island’s famous Pumpkin Patch and it soon became a fall tradition. The MAiZE attracts 30,000 eager explorers annually to the giant labyrinth of field corn, located just fifteen minutes from downtown Portland. Portland’s premier agri-tainment attraction, The Maize and The Pumpkin Patch, have combined the local food movement with down home fun on the farm.

  • Dogtoberfest – Portland’s Biggest Dog Wash

    • After a summer of play, your dog will be in need of a good cleaning. Why not give them a refreshing bath while supporting the DoveLewis Blood Bank? Bring your family and furry friends to the 23nd annual Dogtoberfest® – Portland’s biggest dog wash! Enjoy live music, food, beer (including the special brew Dogtoberfest Traditional German Style Marzen), and a variety of vendors, all while your pup receives a wash and nail trim. Donations and proceeds from the event go toward our Blood Bank, which provides dogs and cats with nearly 600 lifesaving blood transfusions each year.

 

  • Feast for All – Fundraiser / Dinner Event

      • Whether it’s thousands of acres of beloved Oregon forest or hundreds of miles underwater in Texas, it’s our homes, our lives, and it’s been a lot to handle.
      • Feast is a festival that is both local and national in scope. We look locally to our friends and neighbors just a few miles away affected by the Eagle Creek Fire, and we look nationally to our friends recovering from Hurricanes Harvey and Irma. Food is always the ultimate unifier – that thing that makes you know you’ll get through this. Our chefs are rolling up their sleeves with ingredient donations from Nicky USA and are ready to turn out an epic backyard BBQ buffet. Wines by Union Wine Co., beers by Lagunitas Brewing Company.
